2016 West Lake International Symposium on Electromagnetic Sensing

The 2016 West Lake International Symposium on Electromagnetic Sensing (WISES) was held during November 12-14, 2016, in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.


The main theme of the symposium highlights the role of physical insights and electromagnetic sensing of the environment and man-made targets, with a focus on Electromagnetic modeling and simulation, and remote sensing of Land, Atmosphere, and Oceans. It was initiated by Prof. Kunshan Chen of the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth of Chinese Academy of Science and Prof. Yang Du of the Innovative Institute of Electromagnetic Information and Electronic Integration, College of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University.


The invited speakers were Prof. Leung Tsang of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Prof. Jianmin Jin of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Prof. Hean Teik Chuah and Prof. Ewe Hong Tat of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) of Malaysia, Prof. Kunshan Chen and Prof. Jiancheng Shi of the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth of Chinese Academy of Science, Prof. Wenyan Yin of Zhejiang University, Prof. Minyao Xia of Peking University, Prof. Min Zhang of Xidian University, Prof. Jinsong Yang of the Second Institute of Oceanography of State Oceanic Administration, Prof. Feng Xu of Fudan University, Prof. Wenzhe Fa of Peking University, Prof. Lei Bi and Prof. Yang Du of Zhejiang University, and Prof. Dawei Liu of Beihang University. The attendees included Prof. Haogang Wang and Dr. Wenchao Chen.
